Over the last few weeks, we have been reporting on the mysterious murder of 27 year-old DNC staffer Seth Rich, who was shot dead on the streets of Washington D.C. at around 4am on July 10.

Though police originally said his death was a robbery, conspiracy theories have run rampant about the murder since it was revealed that Rich’s wallet and cellphone were not taken from him. Many believe that Rich was Wikileaks source in the DNC that leaked damning documents to them just before the convention.

Now, police have revealed that Rich spent his final hours drinking heavily at his favorite local bar after having a fight with his girlfriend. According to Daily Mail, staffers at Lou’s City Bar, a sports pub Rich frequented five or six nights, recall him being their the night of his death until around 1:45am. He was so drunk that one staffer offered to drive him home, but Rich insisted on going to another bar instead.

It is not known if Rich ever made it to his next bar, but he was dead just over two hours later.

“He was a little bit sadder than usual,” said Lou’s general manager Joe Capone of Rich the night of his death. “Problems between girlfriends and boyfriends. It was like always wondering what the next step is [in the relationship], and what you’re going to do next. There’s always those worries, and Seth was worried about that a little bit.”

Or perhaps he was worried about something besides his issues with his girlfriend. Of that, we’ll never know…
