The nation was rocked by yet another mass shooting on Monday morning when a gunman opened fire at a strip mall in Houston, Texas.

ABC13 reported that police were called around 6:30 this morning with reports that a black male with a revolver was shooting at vehicles at a strip mall.

“We received a call at 6:29 that we had a shooting at the Petco store…the first units were directed to the parking lot where the shooting was still active,” HFD’s Jay Evans says. “We now have approximately 20 EMS personnel vehicles on scene. We do not know, we do not have a count at this time as to how many people have been shot, but all of the people will be directed to local hospitals in the area that are going to be victims.”

It has since been confirmed that at least seven people were injured, but reporter Don Armstrong told viewers that he saw bodies on the ground when he flew over the scene.

Police reportedly shot the suspect when they arrived on the scene, putting an end to the attack. Afterwards, however, a bomb squad rushed to the scene to investigate a suspicious vehicle.

The conditions of those who were wounded greatly vary, as some were hit with glass shrapnel from their vehicles.

“We have several with extremity injuries,” an official told reporters. “We have a couple that are more serious.”

This comes just days after the shooting at a Washington mall that left five people dead in a Macy’s Department store.

Please send thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by this tragedy!
