While Everyone Was Focused On Trump’s Tape, Something Truly DEVASTATING Happened
The mainstream media spent the weekend shaming Donald Trump for comments he made about women over eleven years ago in an audio tape that was leaked on Friday. However, Barack Obama’s media completely ignored a devastating tragedy that took place over the weekend that claimed the lives of two police officers.
Desert Sun reported that two police officers in Palm Springs, California were killed and one was wounded on Saturday when gang member Jose Felix, 26, opened fire on them through the closed door of his house. He then barricaded himself inside the home and exchanged more gunfire with officers responding to the initial shooting.
Felix remained barricaded in the house until 12:50am Sunday morning, when he surrendered and was taken into custody. He had allegedly told his father that he wanted to kill cops minutes before the shooting began. Frances Serrano, who lives across the street from where the shooting occurred, said Felix’s father had come to him just before the shooting to say his son was about to try and kill police officers.
“He came over and asked for help,” she said.
Serrano called the police and Felix’s father walked back towards his home. Minutes later, they heard gunfire break out.
“Today Palm Springs lost two brave officers,” Palm Springs Police Chief Bryan Reyes said at a press conference, his voice shaking with emotion. “I am awake in a nightmare right now.”
The deceased officers have been identified as Jose Gilbert “Gil” Vega, 63, and Lesley Zerebny, 27. They are the first police officers to be killed in Palm Springs since 1962. The wounded officer is awake and alert, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Vega was a 35-year veteran of the force who was due to retire in December. He wasn’t scheduled to work on Saturday, but he decided to work some overtime.
Zerebny had only been with the department for a year and a half. She gave birth to a baby girl just four months ago.
Please send your thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this devastating tragedy.
