The mainstream media is currently doing everything they can to make presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump look like a crazy racist. That’s why it came as bad news this week when it was revealed that Trump once proposed his hit show The Apprentice to a season in which black contestants compete against white contestants.
According to Daily Mail, Trump pitched this idea of segregating Apprentice teams during his syndicated radio show on July 11, 2005. During the show, he told his listeners that he “wasn’t particularly happy” with the show’s previous season and was considering “an idea that is fairly controversial – creating a team of successful African-Americans versus a team of successful whites.”
“Whether people like that idea or not, it is somewhat reflective of our very vicious world,” Trump added.
The business mogul also pitched this idea on The Howard Stern Show, but it was met with a wave of negative backlash and was quickly shelved. Tara Dowdell, a young black woman who was a contestant on season 3 of The Apprentice, told reporters she was “floored” when she heard this proposal, adding that it foreshadowed the “racial resentment and xenophobia’ surrounding his presidential campaign strategy.”
“Best-case scenario, it was huge blind spot. Worst-case scenario, it showed his willingness to exploit race and be divisive – to do anything to promote himself,” Dowdell said. “The presidency can’t be one crazy, ill-advised publicity stunt after another.”
It’s sickening that the mainstream media is reporting on this nonsense, yet is staying silent about the growing number of women who have accused Bill Clinton of rape and sexual assault. What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
