On an episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show set to air on Wednesday, presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton played a game of “Who’d You Rather.” During the game, Clinton dropped a bombshell about her potential Vice Presidential choice that left many of her supporters scratching their heads.
According to The Hill, Clinton shut down rumors that she would choose her competitor, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, as her running mate.
During the game, Clinton was asked to choose who she’d make her running mate between two famous people, whose photos appeared on the screen.
“We’ll keep switching until you narrow it down,” DeGeneres said.
“This is very helpful,” Clinton said. “Don’t tell anybody because we want it to be a big surprise.”
When asked to choose between Mark Cuban and Vice President Joe Biden, Clinton did not hesitate to choose Biden. However, she then eliminated Biden when he was matched up against Scandal actor Tony Goldwyn.
Things then got interesting when Sanders was pitted against Goldwyn.
“Gotta go with Tony,” Clinton said.
Later in the interview, Clinton said she understands why Sanders has stayed in the race so long, pointing out that she stayed in the 2008 race against Barack Obama “all the way to the end.”
“And when it was over, because we had a much closer race than the one currently is between Senator Sanders and myself, I withdrew,” she said, taking a clear shot at the Vermont Senator. “I endorsed him, and I worked really hard to elect him, and I do believe that Bernie will do that.”
