On Saturday night, the nation was rocked by a deadly terrorist attack at a nightclub in Orlando that left 50 dead and 53 injured. Many are suspecting that the incident was connected to Islamic terrorism, but there’s one thing the mainstream media is desperately trying to hide.
According to WCBS-TV, shooter Omar Mateen entered Pulse, a gay nightclub, at around 2a.m. He exchanged fire with officers outside the club and then took over 300 hostages inside.
Mateen, armed with an assault rifle, handgun and an alleged explosive device, would keep those in the nightclub hostage for three hours. At about 5a.m., a SWAT team stormed the nightclub, killing Mateen. Authorities aren’t releasing an exact count of the deceased, but approximately 20 are dead after the attack.
That’s been a well-documented fact, but what hasn’t been well-documented is how many are now saying that this bears the hallmarks of the Islamic State group.
Mateen is a U.S. citizen, born to Afghani parents in 1986. While it isn’t yet known whether he had links to a foreign terror organization, CBS reports that authorities are “leaning towards Islamic terrorism” as a motive and KTRK-TV reported the FBI believes the attack could be Islamic State-inspired.
According to WPEC-TV (via KSNV-TV), the United Cyber Caliphate, a hacking collective affiliated with the Islamic State group, released a hit list of 8,000 people several days ago, 600 of which lived in Florida.
In an appearance on Fox News, counterterrorism expert Dr. Sebastian Gorka also implored viewers to treat the inevitable references to “lone wolf” terrorism as a myth.
“Lone wolf terrorism is a phrase to make you stupid,” Gorka said, adding “they are all connected.”
In spite of all this, check out the front page of the Huffington Post:
Notice something missing? That’s right — any mention of a possible link to Islamic terror.
HuffPo wasn’t alone. Here was the press release from the White House.

This is being described in the press as either a “shooting” or, at the very most, “domestic terror” — as if this was just a guy with a hair-trigger temper, not a coordinated terror attack.
One thing that’s also not being mentioned is that this seems to be Islamic terrorists striking at the gay community. Previously, liberals have called Christians who opposed gay marriage bigots while never leveling that charge at Muslims, many of whom have called for death for members of the gay community.
As Sen. Jeff Sessions said this morning, “There’s just within the wonderful group of Islamic people, a certain group of radicals and it’s been there for a long time and it seems to be growing and we have to accept that fact.
“More of these attacks are coming. It’s a real part of the threat that we face and if we can’t address it openly and directly, and say directly that there is an extremist element within Islam, that’s dangerous to the world and has to be confronted.”
Some lawmakers and law enforcement realize this. The media and the liberal establishment does not. As long as they don’t, there will continue to be more attacks like the one that happened in Orlando.
