During a press conference at the end of 2015, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed the Barack Obama’s push for stricter gun-control laws. However, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy wasn’t about to let him off the hook so easily, and he stepped up and asked the question that Americans everywhere were thinking.
“The president thinks that if there are potentially two terrorists sitting around planning a mass murder, they may call it off because President Obama has put in place common-sense gun laws?” Doocy asked, according to American News.
Earnest gave one of his usual well-conditioned responses, saying that the four weapons used by the San Bernardino shooters were obtained legally, and that a terrorism motive had not yet been confirmed in the incident. Earnest said this despite the fact that shooter Tashfeen Malik had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group as she and her husband opened fired at the Inland Regional Center.
Two of the weapons used by the couple were also given to them by someone else, which is obviously very illegal in California. Unless this person happened to be a licensed firearms dealer, the couple obtained these weapons illegally.
This clip is especially relevant after the worst mass shooting in U.S. history took place in Orlando last weekend, leaving 49 people dead at the hands of a radical Islamic terrorist. Following this shooting, the Obama administration was telling the same exact story. Instead of blaming radical Islam for these atrocities, Obama is placing all of the blame on the Second Amendment.
