Michelle Obama has been slammed in the past for shamelessly using public addresses to race-bait. During a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, she received similar criticisms for her statements on gender equality.
While speaking before the United State of Women Summit in D.C. last week, Michelle whined about what she believes is an unfair division of labor between men and women. Despite the fact that her husband just issued an order demanding schools not to divide students based on traditional gender markers, Michelle said she has identified a clear difference between the sexes. According to Western Journalism, the first lady claimed that men have it easier when it comes to making time for the important things in life.
Michelle made the comments after Oprah asked her for any tips she could offer overextended mothers across America.
“I actually took this on even before I became first lady,” Obama replied. “Even as a lawyer, even as the vice president at a hospital, one of the things I realized is that if you do not take control over your time and your life, other people will gobble it up.”
It was her next statement that upset Americans of both genders. Oprah announced that she had never “heard a man say, ‘You know, I just don’t have the time. I just don’t. I don’t find a way to balance.’”
“You know why?” Michelle shot back. “‘Cause they don’t have to balance anything. Sorry.”
Patriots took to social media to slam Michelle for this.
