The city of Denver, Colorado was rocked by a shooting on Tuesday when a gunman stormed into a downtown office building and opened fire.
According to Reuters, the gunman walked into a building known as the Alliance Center, a hub for environmental activism groups and other organizations, and shot a woman multiple times at around 2:45pm. He then turned the weapon on himself, dying of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say the female victim was specifically targeted by the shooter. She was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, and she remains there at this time.
“I heard screaming, I saw the door to the second floor open and there was just loud screaming,” said Diana Best, a Greenpeace worker who went to the center for a meeting. “It seems like it’s out of control. I’m still shaking. As a human being, we have to figure out what to do with gun violence.”
