Hillary Clinton got some very bad news this week when the National Rifle Association released a new attack ad against her featuring Marine Corps veteran Mark Geist, who survived the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.
“Well, I know some other people who won’t be voting this year either,” Geist added as he walked through a cemetery, reminding Americans of the four Americans who lost their lives during the attack under Clinton’s watch.
“Hillary as president? No thanks,” Geist said. “I served in Benghazi. My friends didn’t make it. They did their part. Do yours.”
This ad is the first of the NRA’s $2 million ad campaign to support Donald Trump and take Clinton down. It is scheduled to air in the battleground states of Colorado, Ohio, Nevada, Florida, Virginia and Pennsylvania, meaning it could have a very negative impact on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
Geist helped write the hit book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi, and he publicly endorsed Trump back in February.
“Under President Trump, many conflicts will be avoided because our enemies will fear the United States and our military,” Geist said at the time.
