Last weekend, two drunken punks at a bar in Louisiana learned the hard way that messing with a police officer is never a good idea.
According to Conservative Tribune, it all started around around 4:00 a.m. last Saturday when one of the drunks refused to leave a bar in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Bartenders managed to flag down a nearby cop to help, but when he tried to arrest the man, his brother stepped in to try to protect him. This turned out to be a huge mistake.
Watch as the police officer pushes the brother out of the way and takes the drunk man down.
The drunken man has been identified as 39 year-old Michael Hoffman, and he has been arrested on charges of resisting arrest, public intoxication, criminal trespassing and disturbing the peace. Witnesses later claimed that this was an incident of police brutality, but Col. Mike Edmonson stood by his officer.
“It’s easy to take a tape and pick it apart, but my troopers are dealing with a lot of people who are intoxicated and a lot of unknowns,” he told The Baton Rouge Advocate. “Unless you’re in the heat of the moment, you don’t know what’s going on. You don’t know who these individuals are, where they’ve been and what they’re doing.”
