The violence in Barack Obama’s hometown of Chicago escalated even more on the Fourth of July weekend as at least 60 people were shot.
According to The Chicago Tribune, 32 people were shot in the 15 hours between noon on Monday and 3 a.m. on Tuesday, doubling the number of gunshot victims from the three nights leading up to Independence Day. Of the 60 people who were shot over the weekend, four of them were fatally wounded.
At least three of the victims were children under the age of 10.
This past weekend was almost as bad as Memorial Day weekend in Chicago, when 63 people were shot.
