Patriots everywhere were stunned this week when popular host Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox News head Roger Ailes.
According to Daily Mail, the host of The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson claims she was fired on June 23 after 11 years with the network because she refused to sleep with Ailes. In her court filing, Carlson recalled a conversation in September in which Ailes said to her, “I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you’d be good and better and I’d be good and better.”
This conversation allegedly occurred after Carlson came to speak with Ailes about discriminatory practices at the network.
“As you may have heard, I am no longer with Fox News,” Carlson wrote on Facebook on Wednesday morning. “I value your support and friendship, especially now, so please stay in touch with me.”
Carlson also claims that Ailes called her a “man hater” and accused her of wanting to ‘show up the boys’ when she complained about what she perceived as demeaning treatment from her co-host Steve Doocy.
“We believe that the evidence will confirm that Gretchen was fired from Fox & Friends for speaking up about demeaning and discriminatory behavior on and off the set,” said Nancy Erika Smith of Smith Mullin PC, who is representing Carlson.
