France declared war on ISIS on Tuesday after a priest was beheaded by two Islamists who stormed a church in Normandy.
According to Daily Mail, 86 year-old Jacques Hamel was beheaded and a nun was left fighting for her life after the two terrorists took five hostages at the church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray near Rouen. Both terrorists were shot dead by police as they emerged from the building, which is now being searched for explosives.
ISIS has already claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was carried out by “two soldiers of the Islamic State.”
“The threat remains very high,” said French President Francois Hollande. “We are confronted with a group, Daesh, which has declared war on us. We have to wage war by every means, (but through) upholding the law, which is because we are a democracy.”
