On July 8, 27 year-old DNC staffer Seth Rich was shot dead in the streets of Washington D.C. Though police originally said it was a robbery, the killers took nothing from Rich, leaving his wallet and cellphone behind.
“If it was a robbery — it failed because he still has his watch, he still has his money — he still has his credit cards, still had his phone so it was a wasted effort except we lost a life,” Rich’s father Joel told reporters, according to The Gateway Pundit.
Since his death, disturbing reports have suggested that Rich was the source of the DNC leak that cost Hillary Clinton a large amount of votes. Some say he was on his way to meet with the FBI when he was murdered.
This week, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange added to these rumors during an interview with Dutch television program Nieuwsuur. Assange claimed that Rich was indeed the source of the leak before offering a $20,000 reward for information on his murder.
Julian Assange: Whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks. As a 27 year-old, works for the DNC, was shot in the back, murdered just a few weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington.
Reporter: That was just a robbery, I believe. Wasn’t it?
Julian Assange: No. There’s no finding. So… I’m suggesting that our sources take risks.
