Millions of Americans have completely lost faith in Hillary Clinton after her campaign admitted she has been suffering from pneumonia following her collapse at the 9/11 memorial. Now, even Clinton’s close liberal friends are sick and tired of her lack of transparency.
One close Clinton friend spoke out to describe the events leading up to her collapse at the memorial as “a self-inflicted f***ing nightmare.” Conservative Tribune reported that Democrats and Clinton-supporters have slammed Clinton for her choice to keep her health concerns private.
David Axelrod, who served as a senior adviser to President Barack Obama, took to Twitter to scold Clinton by saying, “Antibiotics can take care of pneumonia, What’s the cure for an unhealthy penchant for privacy that repeatedly creates unnecessary problems?”
Another unnamed Clinton supporter told The Hill that her privacy about the situation made things worse.
“Why couldn’t the campaign just have been aboveboard about this? She got sick,” the source said. “Tell people she’s sick and move on. I know they thought it would give the right-wingers something to pounce on, but who cares?”
Members of the Clinton campaign have feebly tried to take responsibility for this debacle.
“That’s on the staff. That’s on us, and we regret that,” said spokesman Brian Fallon of the decision, while Jennifer Palmieri, another Clinton aide, responded to Axelrod on Twitter by saying, “We could have done better yesterday.”
This incident is particularly bad for Clinton considering the fact that transparency is such a big issue in this election. Donald Trump has managed to gather millions of supporters because he is real, honest, and transparent. In contrast, polls show that the majority of voters do not find Clinton to be honest or trustworthy.
With Clinton’s own supporters turning on her, her chances of winning this election do not appear to be good at this point…
