Conservative Americans have always had the Bush family’s back, as evidenced by the fact that Republicans voted two of them into the White House. That’s why it came as a massive betrayal to conservatives everywhere when George H.W. Bush announced this week that he will be voting for Hillary Clinton instead of Donald Trump.
Conservative Tribune reported that this news was reported on Facebook when Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and former lieutenant governor of Maryland, posted it to her private account on the social media site.
“The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!!” she captioned a photo of herself and Bush.
When Politico reached out to Kennedy Townsend to clarify, she replied, “That’s what he said.” When Breitbart then reached out to the Bush family, “a spokesperson for the elder Bush didn’t deny the report, but insisted that the former president would keep his preference for president private.”
The 92 year-old former president and his son George W. Bush have refused to say anything in support of Trump throughout this election. Many think this is due in large part to anger that Jeb Bush lost to the business mogul in the primaries.
The Bushes aren’t the only establishment Republicans who still refuse to support Trump. Both Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz have also refused to publicly support Trump. However, each of them have had the decency not to say that they are voting for Clinton…
It’s sickening that the Bushes have turned on the party that has given them so much. They may not like Trump, but the owe it to the Republican Party to make sure that he gets elected over Hillary Clinton, because there’s no telling what kind of damage that liberal nitwit would do to our country if she wins…
