Americans on all sides of the political spectrum on Monday when moderator Lester Holt rigged the first presidential debate for Hillary Clinton by going much harder on Donald Trump. Now, this move has come back to bite Holt as Trump is finally fighting back.
“I wasn’t thinking about it. But when I reviewed it and when I saw all of the commentary, because a lot of people thought he was terrible, and I looked at all of the commentary, I realized he was much, much tougher on me than he was on Hillary. It was like a day and night,” Trump said of Holt on Wednesday, according to Infowars.
“I thought he was OK. I mean, look, I said good things right after the show. But after reviewing it and after seeing the way he badgered and even the questions I got… You know, he hits me with the birther question, of course,” Trump continued.
Trump went on to point out that Holt wrongly tried to correct him on the issue of “stop and frisk” by claiming it is an unconstitutional practice.
“And he likes to correct things where I happen to be right,” Trump said. “We talked about ‘stop and frisk,’ and he was 100 percent wrong. But in the meantime I had to go and prove the point. And it turned out that I was right.”
Trump noticed that Holt did not correct Clinton when she made a false statement about the gold standard.
“Hillary Clinton on the gold standard. He didn’t go after her even though she was wrong,” he said.
