The vice presidential debate took place last night, and polls show that Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence was victorious as even liberals were turned off by Tim Kaine’s aggressive style. Afterwards, Hillary Clinton let her running mate know that she was not happy with his performance at all.
According to Daily Mail, Clinton did not even call Kaine until 11:45 on Wednesday morning, more than twelve hours after the debate ended. Though she sent Kaine a brief email on Tuesday night, she reportedly refused to call him after his lackluster performance.
This is in stark contrast to what Barack Obama did back in 2012, when he called Vice President Joe Biden immediately after his debate with Paul Ryan. Obama hailed his vice president’s performance as “terrific.”
“I could not be prouder of him. I thought he made a very strong case,” Obama said on the tarmac at Andrews Air Force Base as he returned from a campaign trip that night. “I really think that his passion for making sure that the economy grows for the middle class came through. So I’m very proud of him.”
Clinton, however, had no such kind words for Kaine despite the fact that he bent over backwards to defend her.
