The Cheesecake Factory discriminated against local police officers when they asked the uniformed men and women to leave their establishment. They belonged to the Tacoma Police Department. It happened yesterday at the Tacoma Mall location. One of the officers posted on the corporate social media page to complain about their treatment.
According to one of the officers, the general manager Will asked them all to leave because three of them were uniformed and had firearms on them. He insisted to them that firearms were not allowed on the property whether they were police or not.
It was Miriam Nichols who sent the complaint to the Cheesecake Factory. The officers had their duty weapon and their badges visible. Apparently, Will told them that nobody carrying a firearms was welcome, even police. Nichols message stated the following,
“I am local law enforcement and 5 coworkers and I were told to leave by the general manager, Will, of your Tacoma Mall location, because 3 of us were wearing our badge, gun and were visibly identifiable as on duty law enforcement. We were told the guns are not allowed whether you are law enforcement or not, they are not welcome. Everyone in our party were extremely upset at the lack of support we received at this location.
One of our group members informed her husband who immediately contacted the establishment and was eventually routed to Will who told him that corporate has a strict no gun policy and that no person carrying a firearm, to include on duty law enforcement, we’re not welcome to eat there. When we walked in, no one in our group saw any sign that said no firearms allowed.”
Like people usually do, they took their disgust and posted it to social media to tell everyone how terrible it was they were treating law enforcement officers like this. See here,

Having a firearm doesn’t make you dangerous. Not understanding how to use one and havin one makes you dangerous. Thus, the safest person with an gun is one whose trained to use it for their job. Which are police officers no less. One would think people would feel safer with police officers around. Especially considering the rise in gun violence and domestic terrorist attacks on our soil.
The Cheesecake Factory should be ashamed of themselves for embarrassing hard working middle class blue collar police officers who are just trying to do their job and mind their own business.
