President Obama has always been known to conservatives for his unbending arrogance. Once again he proved he has it in spades. The outgoing President told the media that had he run for the office in 2016 he would have been able to win on the hope and change message he had back in 2008.
President Obama spoke to David Axelrod on CNN’s The Axe Files which aired on a podcast this past Monday. He said,
“I am confident in this vision because I’m confident that if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could’ve mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it.”
Obama noted that even in conversations with people who he disagreed with, agreed that the direction the president was pointed towards was the right one. Obama said this about his vision in America in a Trump administration.
“What I would argue is, is that the culture actually did shift, that the majority does buy into the notion of a one America that is tolerant and diverse and open and full of energy and dynamism.”
Obama did take responsibility for their presidential loss unlike Hillary Clinton. He blamed the democrats inability to get on the ground and communicate with the people who were voting…the middle class, working class, blue collar Americans. He did insist Clinton was mistreated by the media but nonetheless performed exceptionally well.
