Chicago Police confirmed Wednesday night that four people have been taken into custody for the alleged assault of an 18-year-old man. He was tied up and beaten because he either supported President-elect Donald Trump or was a convenient stand-in for Trump supporters while one of the assailants broadcast the ordeal on Facebook Live.
Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said in a news conference Wednesday evening at Chicago police headquarters that authorities were still determining what charges to bring against the four people who were arrested in the case, and that charging them with a hate crime is a “possibility.”
The video is horrible and disturbing, and the perps in this case definitely committed a hate crime. What else could it be called?
