With less than three weeks to go before he likely retires from political service for the rest of his life Vice President Joe Biden does not have much to lose. He will be leaving Washington, D.C. with the highest approval ratings for a vice president in American history. Biden’s willingness to speak candidly is one of the reasons he is so popular with the American people and Biden made no attempts to mince words regarding Donald Trump becoming the 45th President of the United States.
Biden was a guest on the PBS NewsHour and he was not shy about offering Trump a healthy dose of criticism in a way which only Biden could:
Grow up, Donald. Grow up. Time to be an adult. You’re president. You’ve got to do something. Show us what you have. You’re going to propose legislation. We’re going to get to debate it. Let the public decide. Let them vote in Congress. Let’s see what happens. It’s going to be much clearer what he’s for and against, and what we’re for and against, now that it’s going to get down to actually discussing in detail these issues that affect people’s lives.
Trump would be wise to accept Biden’s words and to take them into serious consideration, rather than being offended that an individual who has decades more experience than him would offer him any any advice at all. Trump has an inability to allow any person to believe they know something he does not and Trump will not be heeding any of Biden’s message.
