President Obama is getting bad news towards the end of what he claims is an extraordinary successful presidency. Obama has set all of the wrong kind of records, such as time spent on the golf course.
The Obama’s have secured a residence in the Washington D.C. area under the auspices that Malia Obama should finish her schooling at the high school she has been attending. That Obama has side motives to staying in D.C. such as undermining Trump’s presidency is obvious. Adding insult to injury Obama has come under controversy for building a wall around his new house(mansion). Obama and his ilk have issues with Trump’s wall, yet have no problem building walls outside of their own houses to keep out undesirables.
Adding to Obama’s ongoing D.C. related issues, he is likely to have serious problems getting into the local golf course, not too far from his new house.
The New York Post reported:
Obama is looking to join the elite Woodmont Country Club in Maryland once he becomes a private citizen.
But members of the mostly Jewish club are at each other’s throats over whether to accept the golf-loving president, with many saying he deserves to be snubbed for not blocking an anti-Israel vote at the United Nations, according to the sources.
Obama’s UN decision was followed by a speech by Secretary of State John Kerry that was seen by many in the Jewish community as hostile to Israel.
Obama’s complimentary membership in the club — which charges regular members an $80,000 initiation fee — would have begun after he leaves the White House on Jan. 20, Inauguration Day.
The Obamas will continue to live in Washington, DC — and the Rockville club would offer a relaxing respite just miles from his new home. It would also offer a chance for Obama to hit the links on “two premiere golf courses . . . known across the country for their spectacular championship play and . . . rave reviews by golfers throughout the years,” according to the club’s Web site.
Obama used the United Nations and his Secretary of State John Kerry to make it clear before his Presidency is over that he is not a friend of Israel. He allowed a vote to occur at the United Nations to condemn them for their construction of settlements on their own soil. Then, almost certainly with Obama’s approval if not recommendation, Sec. State John Kerry said during his outgoing speech that Israel could “be Jewish or be democratic, but not both”.
This local luxury golf course Obama was likely to receive access to has an $80,000 initiation fee and almost $10,000 a year in membership dues.
A source speaking to the New York post said: “It’s a very exclusive, high-end club […] Originally, this was supposed to be a back-door thing to get this done and give him the membership — free of charge — and circumvent the rules […] But now, with the UN thing, they are not in position or likely to do it.”
Via TheFederalistPapers: The feeling toward Obama’s admittance to the club by waiving standard procedures is apparently bipartisan, according to a source. Although the club “probably skews more Republican than the Jewish community as a whole,” there are numerous prominent Democrat members, including those that supported Obama’s campaigns, but might experience a change of heart toward him now.
“Can you imagine how angry I would be if I had paid $80K to have to look at this guy who has done more to damage Israel than any president in American history?” an official in a Washington Jewish organization told the Post.
“After the UN vote and attack on Israel, I think it probably hurts the club. If there is a club that excludes Jews, he would probably be more comfortable around those folks.”
As the Post noted: “Ironically, Woodmont was founded by the DC-area Jewish community in 1913 precisely because Jews were banned at other clubs.”
