Former President Barack Obama took advantage of his last day in office to release $221 million in funds to the Palestinian Authority.  These funds are said to be used for humanitarian aid in the West Bank and Gaza, as well as other undisclosed projects around governance and political reform.

An additional $4 million in funding was released to aid in climage change programs and $1.25 million was given to various UN agencies to use for projects dealing with sexual exploitation, ozone protection, and peacebuilding

In his first call with Netanyahu since taking office on Friday, Trump stressed his “unprecedented commitment to Israel’s security.”
