One Texas radio station, HITS 105, has decided that it will not be playing any of Madonna’s music after her profanity-filled speech Saturday at the Women’s March in Washington.  In her speech, she said that she had dreamed about “blowing up the White House.”

‘Texarkana’s Classic Hits station – HITS 105 is taking all of Madonna’s songs off the air in the station’s local programming indefinitely following the singer’s comments over the weekend,” according to a statement released on its Facebook page.  The general manager of HITS 105, Terry Thomas, says “banning all Madonna songs at HITS 105 is not a matter of politics, it’s a matter of patriotism.”

The general manager of HITS 105, Terry Thomas, says “banning all Madonna songs at HITS 105 is not a matter of politics, it’s a matter of patriotism.”

The aging pop star made her objectionable comments at the anti-Trump women’s rally on Saturday in Washington D.C.

“Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I’m outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House, but I know that this won’t change anything,” Madonna said over the weekend.

Thomas insists that it would be wildly inappropriate to play her music after her making such un-American sentiments known.

“It just feels wrong to us to be playing Madonna songs and paying her royalties when the artist has shown un-American sentiments,” Thomas said. “If all stations playing Madonna took their lead from us, that would send a powerful economic message to Madonna.”

Madonna has since made a statement to defend her comments, saying that they were taken wildly out of context. The half-hearted apology however, has not kept the Secret Service from doing a full investigation.

Do you think this is an overreaction by the station?  Let us know in the comments.
