Beloved actress Mary Tyler Moore has died.
A spokesperson for Moore confirmed on Wednesday that the actress has passed away at a Connecticut hospital. Family members reportedly flocked to the medical facility, according to TMZ, to say goodbye to the beloved 80-year-old actress, who had brain surgery in 2011 and has battled diabetes for much of her life.
The statement read, “A groundbreaking actress, producer, and passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile.”
In 2011, Moore had brain surgery. She also lived with diabetes.
She’s best known for her work on The Dick Van Dyke Show and for the successful Mary Tyler Moore Show.
